Cirrha Niva introducing new drummer
Wiebe Slim (ex-Melora Rain) will be our new drummer.

We already did one show with Wiebe while supporting The 11th Hour, but at that time he was just doing us a favor. Needless to say that there was a perfect match that day,  which resulted in the fact that Wiebe joined the band.

Some personal words by Wiebe can be found in our Journal

Cirrha Niva auditioning drummers
We are still in the process of checking out new drummers. Over the last couple of weeks we held some very promising auditions, and in the next few weeks more will follow. In the meantime Eelco van der Meer is still helping us out. And we also had the pleasure of doing our most recent gig with talented drummer Wiebe Slim, who fell in this time, instead of Eelco. Nevertheless, the search continues...!

Tommy White leaving Cirrha Niva
Dear friends, we have a sad announcement to make. Drummer Tommy White is forced to leave Cirrha Niva due to health problems. Although it did did not came as a surprise to us we still feel very sad about it.We can only accept his carefully considered decision and wish Tommy a quick recovery. We really hope sometime, someday, Tom his health will allow him to pick up the  drumsticks again and form or join a new band, this band will not only gain a kick-ass tight drummer but also a wonderful person. Good luck mate!

Tommy has written a personal note in which he explains his decision:
After twelve years of being the drummer for Cirrha Niva I have decided to leave the band. Eight months ago, the feeling in my hands started to disappear and slowly began to cause me problems while playing. In the months after it only got worse and I went from one doctor to another, but they could not find the problem. It became clear to me that the live concerts were in jeopardy as at one point I could not guarantee that I could play a full show. While the band hired a temporary replacement for me, I tried my best finding a cure for my problem. Although still rehearsing with the guys, the live concerts were done by Eelco van der Meer. Until now I still do not know what is causing the pain in my hands nor do I know when I will have fully control over my hands again.

The guys in Cirrha Niva were very patient with me and worked around me, but it became clear to all of us that this situation could  not continue. So, not trying to slow them down in any form or way, I told the guys to look for another drummer. Those12 years in the band are very dear to me. Too many  highlights to mention but it was a blast. I had a great time and enjoyed playing for you all. For now I need to get well again and therefore will stop not only playing drums for Cirrha Niva, but also stop playing drums as such.

Who knows what will happen in the future, at this moment I can only say a big thank you to Rob, Daniel, Carlo and Legrand for putting up with me. I know I was not the most easy guy to work with but I truly love you guys and will never forget the fun we had playing together.I wish you well and hope you guys get the success you deserve. I will keep in touch...Cheers!

Tommy White

Daniel’s first gig with 11th Hour
You can read Daniël’ s own words in our Journal.

March, 2010
THE 11TH HOUR joined live by CIRRHA NIVA Bassist Daniël Huijben
THE 11TH HOUR
” the doom metal collaboration between Ed Warby (drums, guitar, bass, vocals, programming; GOREFEST, DEMIURG, HAIL OF BULLETS) and Rogga Johansson (vocals, additional guitar; RIBSPREADER, PAGANIZER, DEMIURG)” has announced the addition of bassist Daniël Huijben (CIRRHA NIVA) to the group's live ranks. Warby states, "Musically it's quite a departure for him, but he fits right in and really enjoy[s] pounding out the monolithic grooves of the 'Burden Of Grief' [THE 11TH HOUR's debut album] material.

"We have a few more rehearsals planned before [Daniël's] first show, which will be at the Turock club in Essen [Germany] on March 6 as special guests of the mighty ASPHYX." (source:
The 11th Hour)

We guarantee all Cirrha Niva fans that Daniël’s collaboration with The 11th Hour will NOT damage or harm Cirrha Niva in any way. His first priority is and will be CN:-). Good luck out there mate... Doom dance!

Happy New Year
We would like to wish you all a Happy New Year and a rocking 2010!
A lot has happened in 2009, of course the release of our latest album  in September, for which we have received nothing but very good reviews all over the world. In October we played our very first acoustic gig in Belgium, which we enjoyed so much that we decided to do this more often. Also were we invited at  “Aardschok Kink FM” on national radio, we played live on the air.

Drummer Tommy White started having health problems, which forced the band to look for a temporary replacement for the last two live shows in 2009
. Eelco van der Meer from the band ˜Ethereal occupied the drum seat and did a marvelous job. Although still not fully recovered, Tommy is hoping to be able to play with the band again very soon.

We have started writing new songs as we do not want to wait another 8 years to release an album. It is too early to tell anything about them yet but we have a lot of ideas, which we hopefully can turn into great songs.

Tommy White Update

Although not fully recovered yet, Tommy sat a whole rehearsal behind his kit and that is where we like to see him...and played a complete set with the band. So things starting to look better. This doesn't mean that Tommy will play in 013 Tilburg, for this gig we can still trust on Eelco’ s talents, which he already showed us in Baroeg Rotterdam.

Speaking 'bout Tommy, here's a cool
Interview with the man.

Drummer Eelco rules!
Our show last night at De Baroeg in Rotterdam was the debut of drummer Eelco van der Meer. And what a great job he did! From start to finish he played his heart out. We could not be happier to have him help us out during our live shows. He will be playing again with us on December 13 at venue 013, Tilburg (NL).

Drummer Tommy White not performing
As Tommy is having health problems, he will not be able to perform any live shows with the band. At this moment it is unsure when he will return. We have found a temporary replacement in Eelco van der Meer from the band Ethereal. He only had one week to prepare himself as he will be performing with us next Friday, November 6th at venue Baroeg, Rotterdam (NL). We are confident that he will do a great job! Tommy will be joining us for a last time this year on our acoustic show, November 8th in Belgium.
Eelco will play the last show this year in Tilburg.

October 9, 2009
Looking forward....
We are going to strike again on Metal Attack Fest (NL) at the end of this month, and we are happy to headline in venue Baroeg, Rotterdam (NL).

But most special of all would be the gig on Mindview’s Metal Convention, as this will be a complete acoustic gig!
4 songs from our new album ‘For Moments Never Done’ will be stripped down to the bone and presented in their most fragile form.
